VMSTV is Valley Middle School's Broadcast Journalism program. In its 17th season on the air, VMSTV students produce a live broadcast that features school and community news. Valley's broadcast journalism program has won the prestigious iVIE Award for ten consecutive years, and the class is considered a national model for middle school broadcast journalism.
In the fall of 2008, VMSTV was awarded the State of California's Golden Bell Award. This is the first time a Carlsbad Unified School District school has been awarded this honor.
For six consecutive years, VMSTV has won the prestigious STN Award of Excellence, placing it in the Number One position in the nation in the middle school category.
VMSTV is a feeder program for Carlsbad High School's nationally acclaimed CHSTV.

During the summer of 2017, Valley Middle School's studio (formerly the Padres news set on FOX SPORTS) was upgraded with new electrical outlets and a fresh coat of paint!
