Camp Dates & Times

  • Departure: Monday, September 21, at 8:45 AM (Student check-in starts at 7:45 AM).
  • Return: Friday, September 25, at approximately 12:00 PM.

Expected Weather & Cabin Temperatures

  • Weather: We expect warm weather at camp, but evenings are cooler, so students should pack layers and a heavy jacket.

  • Cabin Temperature & Facilities: Cabins do not have air conditioning, but they remain reasonably comfortable in warm weather because of their brick construction, shaded location, and fans in every room. All cabins have heat for cooler nights.

Packing List

Please pack all items into one suitcase or duffel bag, plus one bedroll/sleeping bag. Please use this link to read the packing list. 
  • Required Clothing & Bedding: 
  • Lightweight sleeping bag (or sheets/blankets) and pillow
  • Heavy jacket  
  • Heavy sweatshirt 
  • 4 long-sleeved shirts
  • 4 T-shirts (or short-sleeved shirts) 
  • 4 pairs of long pants, 6–8 pairs of socks 
  • Underwear, pajamas 
  • 2 pairs of tennis or hiking shoes 
  • 2 bath towels and washcloths.

  • Essential Toiletries & Gear: Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap (in a plastic container), comb/brush, unscented lotion, sunscreen, chapstick, water bottle with a strap, and a hat or cap.

  • Prohibited Items: Do not send cell phones, smartwatches, electronic devices, candy/food/snacks, money, flashlights, or aerosol sprays. Cuyamaca Outdoor School is a fragrance-free and nut-free campus.

Parent Volunteers Needed (Drop-Off & Pick-Up)

We need parent volunteers to assist with loading and unloading student luggage:
  • Monday, September 21 (Drop-Off): We need 2–3 volunteers from 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM to load luggage.
  • Friday, September 25 (Pick-Up): 3–5 volunteers needed from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM to unload luggage.

Instagram

If you would like your student to be included in our camp photos on Instagram, please ensure that your media permission preferences are up to date:
  • Log in to your Aeries Parent Portal.
  • Review and update your media restriction preferences to grant photo permission.
If your student is marked with a media restriction in Aeries, we will ensure they are not included in photos posted to our social media channels. Please make any updates in Aeries as soon as possible before we depart for camp.

Medication Reminder

  • Please submit all prescription medications, inhalers, and special over-the-counter items to the main office/health office in advance.
  • No medications of any kind are permitted inside student luggage or cabins.

Monday Morning Drop-Off (September 21)

Time: Drop-off begins at 7:45 AM. Students must be checked in before buses depart at 8:45 AM.
Location: Enter through the upper parking lot gate on Valley Street.
Procedure:
  • Walk your student through the upper gate and down the stairs (do not enter through the bike gate).
  • Students will check in by last name in the parking lot to the left of the gate, receive a colored bus wristband, and tag their luggage.
  • If your child needs to check in prescription or unapproved over-the-counter medications, please visit the Health Table station first. No medication is allowed in luggage. 
  • Say quick goodbyes so all parents can exit campus by 8:15 AM to maintain campus security.

Friday Afternoon Pick-Up (September 25)

Time: Buses and luggage trucks are estimated to arrive back at school between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.
Location & Procedure:
  • Park along Valley Street or in the upper parking lot.
  • Buses will unload near the main office/Magnolia parking lot. (Parents will not pick up students here)
  • Students will enter school and walk to the e-bike gate area to pick up their luggage from the luggage truck before exiting to an adult.
