Students are welcome to visit the library before/after school and during brunch/lunch to do schoolwork, get Chromebook help, play board games, use the printer, just hang out, or check books in/out.

During school, students are not permitted to play video games or watch videos. Before and after school as well as on rainy days, students are allowed to game and watch videos.

No food or drinks in the library.

Check Your Library Account Anytime

Students can view their library accounts by:

  • Selecting “Log In” on the top right
  • Entering their 5-digit student ID for both username and password
  • Clicking on “More” on the navigation bar, then “Back Office,” then “My Info”

VMS LIBRARY MISSION

The mission of the Valley Middle School Library: is to provide materials on core curriculum subjects and personal interests both in print and non-print formats; to support education and research in an intellectually and culturally open environment; to encourage students and staff to become effective users of ideas and information; to collect, organize, and facilitate access of information in print and non-print formats; and to promote life-long reading and learning both for pleasure and for information.


Circulation Policies

Students can check out a maximum of 4 library books at a time. Each book is due 3 weeks from the check out date and can be renewed 2 times, unless another student has it on hold. Automated overdue notices get emailed every Monday. Fines for lost or damaged items can be paid with cash or a check made out to CUSD.
